testing testing this is the piccies post blahblah what if i put loads of writing?
Hey there where ya goin', not exactly knowin', who says you have to call just one place home. He's goin' everywhere, B.J. McKay and his best friend Bear. He just keeps on movin', ladies keep improvin', every day is better than the last. New dreams and better scenes, and best of all I don't pay property tax. Rollin' down to Dallas, who's providin' my palace, off to New Orleans or who knows where. Places new and ladies, too, I'm B.J. McKay and this is my best friend Bear.

Ulysses, Ulysses - Soaring through all the galaxies. In search of Earth, flying in to the night. Ulysses, Ulysses - Fighting evil and tyranny, with all his power, and with all of his might. Ulysses - no-one else can do the things you do. Ulysses - like a bolt of thunder from the blue. Ulysses - always fighting all the evil forces bringing peace and justice to all.

One for all and all for one, Muskehounds are always ready. One for all and all for one, helping everybody. One for all and all for one, it's a pretty story. Sharing everything with fun, that's the way to be. One for all and all for one, Muskehounds are always ready. One for all and all for one, helping everybody. One for all and all for one, can sound pretty corny. If you've got a problem chum, think how it could be.

Letting the flat

Back in Scotland now preparing the flat for rental with a letting agency. This should nicely tie up any loose ends here in Scotland and if I am lucky may even provide a tiny bit of income for the walkabout.
The attic is full of junk and the garage still has the damn VFR750 in it! LLetting agency lady pops in early Monday morning so with her guidance I have 5 days to prepare the place. Painting is done, smoke alarms are in. . . garden sorted. . cleanup still to do, and carpets and some touching up. . meh enough. seems tomorrow is another list making day :)

Listmaking Ug!

Last week I got confirmation form my employer that taking a year off work was a-ok with them and I get a job when I return! Am I dreaming?! Anyway, with that bombshell its time to take planning this trip up another level, and to do that I will be wielding LISTS!

A few urgent basics that I need to sort out pronto

Inoculations for everywhere and everything- got it in hand. Will be expensive it seems but with evidence of voluntary work I may be able to get the government to cover some

Contact Voluntary work places and figure out dates of arrival in Zim and Malawi

Contact Bike place, get it fixed and stored away - also contact SORN ppl in UK

Sort Will and also house rent with Ewan (Maybe Neill can move in?)

Recheck Visas required and look into flights to Capetown

Get boots -(Silvermans? or Decathlon?)

That should do for now, am sure I will think of more

Bags and the like

I never realised there were so many different types of rucksack. After a few months of investigation I am looking at non top loading rucksack. It should be a lot easier to access everything I need and must still be large enough. Around 65l should do it. Carribee have a nice one that has lockable zips and a few other very useful features. More money than I had hoped to spend on a bag but it should be a worthwhile investment.

It occured to me that a solid laptop case would be awesome if I can find one small enough. The last thing I need is a broken netbook in the middle of nowhere.

Blogging is srs bsns

It was a dark and stormy night. . . ok well it wasnt. It was actually the end of a rather boring quiet night shift when I decided that my future trip to Africa should be recorded on a blog so this is experimental blog testing . . . take 1!

As I mentioned, I am planning a wee tour of Africa this summer. Kind of a get away from work and have some thinking time trip. Nothing is booked although I will be in London next week to buy some things I will be needing. It may be a good idea to look into vaccination type things while I am in there. Scotland is also on my itinerary so I will get the chance to catch up with some friends.

I'll add to this as I develop the plans.
